Mega Fruit Mandi officially opens its doors in Shopian

SHOPIAN — The Mega Fruit Mandi in southern Kashmir’s Shopian district started its operations with full swing as a large number of fruit merchants from the entire country reached the Mandi to purchase quality apples.

One of the fruit merchants from Varanasi UP, Kishore Kapoor said that Shopian has the best quality apples in the entire country and the ‘conditions’ here are totally normal. “We feel very safe and the people of the entire Shopian and Kashmir are very loving and welcoming.”

“So, I appeal all the fruit merchants from all the state of the country to visit the Shopian and purchase the quality-rich apples to boost their businesses,” he added.

The fruit merchants said that the environment of Kashmir makes them feel very safe and secure. They also appealed the fruit merchants of other states to visit Shopian for purchase of high-quality apples.

The apple season is in its initial stage but the rush in Mandi at Shopian indicates that this year will be very beneficial for apple growers.

President Fruit Association Mandi, Mir Mohammad Amin said that the Shopian has produced very high-quality produce after several years. He welcomed all the fruit merchants of outside country and said they must visit Shopian to get quality-rich fruits to boost their business, economically.

He added further that the traders are happy that farmers from the region have started selling apples. We are happy that traders from this belt have also started growing apples as it will provide more variety and quantity, which is good for our business.

Apple growers paid warm thanks to Law Enforcement wing of Agriculture Department Shopian for their determined duties in providing best quality pesticides and fungicides by the help of which Shopian produced such an extraordinary produce of fruits.
