PULWAMA — As the weekend lockdown ended after three days in Kashmir, normalcy was restored in all the districts of the valley including southern Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday.
Shops and business establishments resumed their normal business while public transport was seen plying on the roads.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Union Territory administration issued an order on Sunday under which the weekend lockdown period was reduced from 64 hours to 57 hours. As a result, the coronavirus-induced lockdown will now be in effect from 9 pm on Friday till 6 am on Monday.
Night curfew, however, shall continue to remain in force in all districts from 9 PM to 6 AM with complete restriction on non-essential movement.
Jammu and Kashmir reported 4615 new COVID-19 cases while seven persons succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours on Sunday. 1401 of the fresh cases were confirmed from Jammu Division and 3214 from Kashmir Valley, taking the total count to 432875.
