PULWAMA — Several residential houses suffered partial damage after government forces defused an IED in Avengund village of southern Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

The houses, which suffered damage in the blast, were recently constructed, as per the local residents.

“We appeal the local authorities, including the District Development Commissioner Pulwama, to provide us compensation for the damage. We have not done anything but our property has been damaged,” a house owner said.

It is pertinent to mention that an improvised explosive device (IED) recovered from a Santro car in Avengund area of Rajpora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district was defused by the personnel of the bomb disposal squad on Thursday morning.
