PULWAMA — While reacting to the civilian killings in general and killings of non-locals in particular, non-local people in Kashmir say they have no fear or complaints with the people of Kashmir.
Some of the non-local people, who are working and earning their livelihood in the valley, while speaking tho The Kashmir Pulse said that they love Kashmir and its people who treat them with respect and take care of them.
The non-local residents said that they have been witness to the changing political situation of the valley and have become used to the spates of violent events, which hardly stops them to continue with their daily life in Kashmir.
One of the non-local residents in Pulwama district, Mohammad Arsheed, said that the Kashmiri people are most friendly, especially the residents of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. He also added that all non-locals are doing their normal work and feel totally safe.
A non-local couple said that they have been living in Pulwama for quite some time and everyone, in their neighbourhood, offers to help them in one way or the other.
It is pertinent to mention here that there has been a fresh spate of targeted killing in the valley and many civilians including non-locals have been attacked by ‘unknown gunmen’ suspected to be militants.
Security forces including J-K Police have been conducting patrolling of various areas in order to check the incidence of such attacks while the security of vulnerable people has also been beefed up.
Also, business establishments and shopkeepers have been asked to install CCTV cameras to help the police authorities in better policing in the backdrop of such an increase in attacks on civilians.
