Nocturnal CASO underway in Sopore village

SOPORE — Government forces on Thursday night launched a cordon and search operation at Nethipora area Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Reports reaching here said that a joint team of Army’s 22 RR, 92 Bn CRPF, 177 Bn CRPF, and SOG Sopore laid a siege Nethipora village in Sopore late today evening.

A police officer also confirmed and said that the cordon was launched following inputs about the movement of some suspected militants.

Local sources said that forces have installed lights in the area and are conducting door to door searches.
