SRINAGAR — A Jammu and Kashmir Bank guard was killed in an accidental fire by his colleague in Kapran village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district, officials said.
Officials said that a J&K Bank guard identified as Majid Ahmad Naikoo was hit by a bullet which accidentally went off by his colleague at J&K Bank’s Kapran branch in Shopian district.
They said that Naikoo received serious wounds after being hit by a bullet following which he was rushed to Srinagar’s SMHS hospital here. However, the officials said that the injured J&K Bank guard succumbed to his injury on way to the hospital.
Naikoo, as per the officials, was guarding the Jammu and Kashmir Bank’s ATM near the branch. Meanwhile, police officials said that a case has been registered at nearby police station in this regard.
