NEW DELHI — ‘The Kashmir Files’ was one of the most widely awaited films, with people excitedly anticipating its debut. Given the audience’s ecstatic wait to watch this movie on-screen, the creators first released the movie on March 11 and it is now slated to be released on an OTT platform.

The Kashmir Files movie is now awaited to be made available on OTT platform Zee5 on May 13, more urgently because the movie has been leaked online.

The Kashmir Files full movie leaked online

The Kashmir Files is the latest victim of online piracy as the film is available on sites like Tamilrockers and other sites for free download.

IMDb detects ‘unusual voting activity’, applies alternate rating

Interestingly, the film’s IMDb rating saw a minor setback after the site detected ‘unusual voting activity’.

A Twitter user tweeted to the director, saying, “The IMDb page of #TheKashmirFiles says: ‘Our rating mechanism has detected unusual voting activity on this title. To preserve the reliability of our rating system, an alternate weighting calculation has been applied’. They have themselves dipped the ratings.”

The page states that the film received around 131,433 votes and owing to the ‘unusual’ activity, gave the film an average rating of 8.3 / 10.

About the movie ‘The Kashmir Files’

The Kashmir Files is a forthcoming Indian Hindi-language film starring Mithun Chakraborty and Anupam Kher, written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri and produced by Abhishek Agarwal. The movie depicts the early 1990s migration of Kashmiri Pandits owing to the insurgency in Kashmir.

Following the success of ‘The Tashkent Files’, filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri completed the script for ‘The Kashmir Files’ after conducting ‘research’ about the 1990 exodus of Kashmiri Hindus. The film, as per a first-look movie poster released on August 14, 2019, will be an honest investigation of one of the worst human tragedies.

In May 2020, actor Anupam Kher joined the cast as the film’s lead actor while the film’s original schedule was cancelled owing to the pandemic of Coronavirus.

The film was supposed to be released in theatres throughout the world on January 26, 2022, to coincide with India’s Republic Day, but it was delayed owing to the spread of Omicron variant of COVID-19. The film was released in theatres on March 11, 2022.
