SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha vowed to bring those responsible for the deadly Reasi bus attack on pilgrims to justice. In the aftermath of the attack, Sinha took a series of steps to address the situation.

Sinha chaired a high-level security review meeting with senior officials from the J&K Police and Civil Administration. The meeting focused on assessing the current security situation and devising strategies to prevent future attacks. Increased surveillance and intelligence gathering were emphasized as crucial measures.

The Lieutenant Governor strongly condemned the “nefarious” attack and assured the public that stringent actions would be taken against the perpetrators and those who aided them. He emphasized the administration’s commitment to maintaining peace and ensuring the safety of all citizens in Jammu and Kashmir.

Sinha further demonstrated his solidarity with the victims by visiting pilgrims injured in the attack who are currently receiving treatment at hospitals in Jammu and Katra. He wished them a speedy recovery and expressed his condolences to the families of those who lost loved ones.

To provide immediate financial relief to the victims, the Lieutenant Governor announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs. 10 lakh each for the families of those killed and Rs. 50,000 each for the injured.

The district administration has also established a control room to provide necessary assistance to the victims and their families. Additionally, a temporary joint security force headquarters, comprising personnel from the J&K Police, the Army, and the CRPF, has been set up at the attack site to apprehend those responsible.
