Burglars strike as 250 apple boxes stolen in Pulwama

PULWAMA — Burglars on the intervening night of Sunday-Monday stole 250 apple boxes from the orchards of Abhama village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Reports reaching here said that the boxes had been stored in a shed owned by the local grower Imtiyaz Ah Mir son of Rasool Mir of Abhama area. The cost of the stolen apples was over Rs 2 lakh.

Pertinently, several incidents of apple theft were also reported from the area and authorities are clueless to take any action against these burglars.

The thefts have alarmed the people of the area who have appealed the police authorities to nab the culprits at the earliest.
