Pulwama: Government forces on the intervening night of November 14 and November 15 detained two cousins of a deceased militant from Bellow village, claimed their family members in the south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Parvaiz Ahmad Wani and Gowher Ahmad Wani, the two cousins of deceased militant Liyaqat Wani were arrested during a night raid around 01:30 AM.

According to Manzoor Wani, brother of Parvaiz, “Around 12 AM, government forces were conducting searches in our mohalla. They entered our house and took our brother with them.”

“They told us not to worry. They said after completing searches, we will drop him back but they didn’t,” he said.

It is pertinent to mention here that Parvaiz is a government employee working in the Rural Development Department.

However, the family members of another youth said that Gowher was already arrested, 15 minutes before the arrest of Parvaiz.

The Kashmir Pulse tried to contact SSP Pulwama over the allegation but the phone call was not responded to.

Pertinently, militant Liyaqat Wani was killed along with his associate Wajid Ul Islam last Saturday in Tikken village of the district.
