Grenade blast in Pulwama, two CRPF soldiers injured


Srinagar: Suspected militants Monday hurled a hand grenade at a CRPF party in south Kashmir’s Pulwama injuring at least two. The grenade attack took place near Shaheed Park of the town.

A police official while confirming the incident said that two CRPF men sustained injuries in the blast who have been hospitalized.

The CRPF personnel injured in the attack were identified as AC Anuj Patik (right thigh), Ct Sumit Kumar (left hand), Ct Sunbir Singh (left shoulder) and Ct Suresh Kumar (back).

Three civilians, injured in the incident, were identified as Shugufta Jan (27) resident of Litter, Fiza Jan (12) resident of Washbugh and Arshid Ahmad resident of Pathan.

This followed a grenade attack on police party in nearby Shopian injuring at least 16 people including four police men and 12 civilians.
