Locals protest as Rahmoo-Pulwama road in shambles

PULWAMA — The dilapidated condition of Rahmoo-Pulwama road is causing immense hardships to the commuters and pedestrians as the government has not undertaken any repair work on this road since years, not to speak of macadamisation.

Locals disrupted traffic in the area after they blocked the road, much to the inconvenience of the commuters. The protesters were demanding macadamization of Rahmoo-Pulwama road.

One of the protesters said that the road from Mitrigam to Rahmoo Pulwama is in dilapidated condition, as a result of which people face lot of inconvenience. He said R&B Department is in deep slumber, while under PMGSY, road from Pulwama to Mitrigam has already been macadamized.

The protesters said many roads were macadamized in the district but this arterial two-kilometer road is in a very bad condition and dotted with huge potholes and bumps due to which commuters are facing tremendous inconvenience.

Officials from police and civil administration rushed to the spot and pacified the protesters, assuring that the matter will be taken up with the concerned department.
