Man arrested for thrashing court employee in Bandipora

SUMBAL — Police arrested a man and registered a case against him after he allegedly thrashed a court employee in Sumbal area of northern Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

A police official said that Nazir Farooq Bhat, a resident of Bota Mohalla was arrested for thrashing an Orderly at Munsif Court Sumbal. A case has been registered against him.

Locals said that the victim, who had not allowed the assailant’s entry into Munsif’s courtroom, was beaten up and was shifted to JVC Srinagar. The victim has been identified as Taqdeer Ahmed Hajam.

The incident angered lawyers and other employees of the Sumbal court who staged a protest demanding stern action against the culprit. The incident disrupted the court work for some time.
