Militants attack Army camp in Pulwama

Srinagar: Militants on Monday late evening attacked an Army camp with a grenade at Kakapora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Official sources said that the militants attacked the Army’s 50 RR camp in Kakapora with a grenade at around 8:30 PM.

In retaliation, Army men fired several aerial rounds; however, there was no immediate report of any causality.

SSP Pulwama, Mohd Aslam Choudhary when contacted said that some fire shots and a blast like sound was heard near the camp.

“We have launched investigations and the incident is being ascertained”, SSP said.

Soon after the incident, the whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers, the officer said. (GNS)
