Six militants killed in Bijbehara as gunfight ends

Srinagar: Six militants were killed after a predawn gunfight broke out between militants and goverment forces in Sekipora area of Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday.

A senior Police officer said that six militants have been killed. “However, their identity is yet to be ascertained as we are in process of retrieving bodies from encounter site,” he said.

Earlier, SSP Anantnag Altaf Khan said that contact has been established with militants after having credible information about their presence. (GNS)
