IUST announces contractual Assistant Professor vacancies across multiple disciplines for 2015

PULWAMA — The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) has released an employment notification, inviting eligible candidates to apply for contractual Assistant Professor positions for the 2015 academic session.

The university, recognized by both the UGC and AICTE, is seeking to fill teaching vacancies across a diverse range of subjects encompassing engineering, sciences, humanities, and business.

Available Disciplines

According to the advertisement issued by the Registrar on January 19, 2015, applications are open for the following subjects:

• Food Technology, Food Engineering, and Livestock Production Technology (LPT)
• Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Architectural Engineering
• Journalism & Mass Communication, and International Relations
• Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics
• Business Studies, Business Studies (IT), and Computer Science (MCA/M.Sc.IT)
• English and Ethics

Application Process and Deadlines

Interested candidates are required to submit their applications online exclusively through the university’s dedicated portal at www.iustlive.com. The notification explicitly states that no other mode of application will be accepted.

Following the online submission, applicants must deliver a complete hard copy of the application form, supported by attested copies of all relevant certificates and testimonials, to the office of the Registrar. Applications received after the deadline will not be entertained.

Important Dates at a Glance

Note on Interviews: The interview for the International Relations position will be held at the University campus in Awantipora. Interview schedules for all other disciplines will be notified separately. Candidates are advised to regularly check the university websites for updates.

Contract Terms and Conditions

The selected candidates will be engaged for the full academic session ending in December 2015. Appointees will be required to submit an affidavit confirming their commitment to serve for this duration.

There are two notable exceptions to the standard contract terms:

• Ethics Department: The engagement for this specific subject is meant only for the spring semester, which ends in June 2015.
• Permanent Employment Clause: Candidates who manage to secure a permanent job during their tenure will be allowed to leave the department during the active academic session.
