Woman leader from north Kashmir resigns from BJP

SRINAGAR — All is not well in the BJP as another leader of north Kashmir resigned from the party on Thursday.

A social activist from Handwara, Mubeena Bano, who had joined BJP few months before, on Thursday resigned from the party.

“I have been working for redressing issues of people since 2015. I had joined BJP to resolve the issues of people. But nothing is being done on the ground so I resigned from the BJP,” she said.

She is the third leader of the BJP from north Kashmir who has resigned from the party in the last six days.

Earlier, two youth leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party from north Kashmir resigned.

On Saturday, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) president from Baramulla, Marouf Bhat tendered his resignation from the party. While on Tuesday, BJP’s Vice President for Kupwara, Asif Ahmad also resigned from the party.

Also, BJP leader Mehraj ud Din Malla, who was reportedly “abducted” on Wednesday morning returned home in the evening. Before that, a youth BJP leader Waseem Bari along with his father and brother were killed outside their home in Bandipora.
