Government withdraws 30% fare hike on public transport in J&K

SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir Government today withdraw 30 per cent fare hike on public transport in the Union Territory.

The fare hike was ordered vide Order 31-JK(TR) of 2020; Dated: 22-06-2020 in Jammu and Kashmir in view of COVID-19 pandemic, so as to ensure social distancing in public transport.

The latest order comes after media reported flouting COVID-19 protocol by cab drivers who used to fill their vehicles to full capacity but charged double fares at the same time.
