SRINAGAR — The undergraduate students from different colleges Monday staged a protest at Press Colony here, demanding relaxation in their syllabus for upcoming examination for 5th and 6th semesters.

The protesting students said that since examination for the two semesters were being held jointly after three months, authorities at Kashmir University should lessen their syllabus by 50 per cent to “give us sigh of relief”.

The students said that they started their undergraduate courses in 2016 and were supposed to finish them in 2018. “But our two semesters are still incomplete,” they said.

“How can we complete the syllabus of two semesters in four months?” the protesting students asked.

The students urged authorities to fulfill their “genuine demand”. “We are hopeful that the administration will look into the issue and fulfill our demand,” the protesting students said.
