PULWAMA — Restrictions were imposed in southern Kashmir’s Pulwama district after a militant, belonging to the area, was killed in the Nawa Kadal gunfight yesterday.

J&K Police on Tuesday identified the two slain militants in Nawa Kadal encounter as Hizbul Mujahideen’s divisional commander for central Kashmir Junaid Sehrai, the son of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat chairman, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai.

The second slain militant was identified as Tariq Ahmed Sheikh from Pulwama.

After his identification, government forces manned the roads and strategic points while as mobile internet services were snapped in the district as well.

Although, the restrictions were in place throughout the day, mobile internet services were restored around 5:30 PM.
