Pulwama: A Hajj Orientation Programme was today organized in Pulwama for the intending Hajj pilgrims of the district.
The programme, conducted by the District Administration, was held in Mir Sahab Mosque of Pulwama town.
The orientation/training camp was organized with the objective to enlighten the intending pilgrims on issues concerning rituals to be observed at Mecca and Medina.
“The orientation programmes are held every year. In this camp, experts guide the intending pilgrims about things like how to travel to Mecca, Medina and then back to their homes. Also, questions of various sorts are being answered by these experts so as to clear any misconceptions that the pilgrims might have,” said a Hajj pilgrim during the camp.
The Hajj is an annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, and a mandatory religious duty for Muslims that must be carried out at least once in their lifetime by all adult Muslims who are physically and financially capable of undertaking the journey, and can support their family during their absence.
