PULWAMA — Operational Chief Commander of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen Riyaz Naikoo among four militants were killed in two seperate gunfights with joint teams of police, Army and CRPF at Beighpora and Khrew area in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Riyaz Naikoo and his associate were killed in a gunfight at Beighpora are while as two more militants were killed in an encounter in Shaar Shali village of Khrew area.

Meanwhile, reports said that at least 25 people were injured, four of them due to “bullets” as government forces resorted to firing live ammunition and pellets in order to disperse large number of protesters near Beighpora encounter site.

Mobile internet and calling services were suspended in Kashmir valley as a precautionary measure, following the killing of top Hizb commander Riyaz Naikoo.
