
SRINAGAR — An internet radio service, CityFM JK, was officially inaugurated here at the head office of the organisation at Chanapora, Srinagar.
According to the manager of CityFM JK, Mr Arshid Dar, “Internet station will be aired as one of its kind in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, targeting the general audience with events of a kind.”
“The Radio shall serve the society in fields of education, sports, tourism, entertainment, current affairs, interviews, and especially news,” he said, adding, “Innovative programming, vivacious radio jockeys and experienced professionals will entertain the listeners.”
Mr Farooq Khan, Vice President of JK-PDF, was the chief guest, and Asha Kachru was the guest of honour, who entertained the audience with a Kashmiri song. Asha is actually Kashmir-born but spent her childhood in London, and she was impressed by the App.
In her speech, she said, “I am very much impressed by the youth of the Valley who are contributing a lot towards their culture.” In a token of love, she gifted two lakh rupees as a cash reward for the organisation.
The founder, Tariq Ahmad Bhat, who has seen many ups and downs, said in his speech, “I feel joy and ambition, but it is incomplete without my team.”
Besides, many media persons and police officers were also present on the occasion, who spoke to the audience.
