PULWAMA — Clashes broke out between the government forces and people in Murran village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district after forces launched a cordon and search operation in the village on Sunday late afternoon.
Reports reaching to KNO that soon after the operation was launched by a mixed contingent of forces including army’s 55 RR, Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF launched a search operation in the area, people especially youth pelted them with stones.
In response to the stone pelting, the government forces retaliated by firing tear smoke shells and pellet firing m, triggering further clashes, they said.
Earlier cordon was laid by joint team of forces on specific inputs about the presence of militants in Nag Mohalla of Murran.
Meanwhile clashes amid door to door search operation was going on when this report was filled.
