Militants offer gun salute to slain colleagues in Shopian

SRINAGAR — Militants on Friday evening offered gun salute to their slain colleagues at Tukroo Shopian.

Reports reaching here said that a group of militants appeared at the grave of Shakeel Ahmad Dar in Tukroo and fired many shots in air.

“After offering gun salute to pay their tribute to their slain colleague, they rushed away from the spot,” an official said.

Pertinently, Shakeel along with an associate Yawer Mushtaq was killed in an encounter at Handew village of Shopian on Thursday.

A civillian was also killed in the encounter which was the second civilian casualty on Thursday in the gunfights between militants and government forces.
