SRINAGAR — The Central Reserve Paramilitary Force (CRPF) has decided to perform the last rites of its first COVID causality in Kashmir only and not to send the body of deceased to his native village.

“We are going to follow Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines in spirit while dealing with the body of deceased CRPF man,” Assistant Commandant and CRPF spokesman for Operations in Kashmir, Junaid Khan said.

“The deceased CRPF man will be cremated in Kashmir only while following the proper protocol,” he said.

Earlier in the day, a CRPF man died at SKIMS, Soura. He was COVID infected. The deceased is the first victim in CRPF since the outbreak of pandemic in J&K.
