GANDERBAL — An Army soldier was killed while another seriously injured after an Army vehicle met with an accident on Srinagar-Leh road on Thursday.

Official sources said that an Army vehicle, part of a Convoy, on way towards Srinagar from Leh skidded off from the main road at Ranga-Zojila, resulting in the on-spot death of one Army soldier.

He said the vehicle, after skidding off the road, fell 300 feet down and was completely damaged.

Seriously injured Army soldier was shifted to Army Hospital Sonamarg while the dead body was shifted to Army Cantonment Badami Bagh Srinagar.

In the accident, the vehicle driver identified as Karan Singh son of Kamal Singh, a resident of Nagrota Jammu died on-spot while while another person (helper) namely Meraj Khan got injured and was shifted to Army hospital Sonamarg.
