Srinagar: Massive protests broke out at Kashmir University on Monday against the killing of a youth in Zainakote area of Srinagar on weekend.
Demanding exemplary punishment for his killers, scores of students marched in the campus amid pro-freedom slogans.
Gowhar Manzoor Dar, 22, was killed after a teargas shell fired by paramilitary CRPF men hit him on his head on Saturday evening, police said.
A protester demanded that the killers of Gowhar must be punished.
“A probe has been ordered by the government but we know it is mere eyewash. The government must immediately identify and arrest the troopers who are responsible for the killing of Gowhar,” said a protester.
