SRINAGAR — SKIMS Medical College & Hospital Bemina here in Srinagar threw open the oxygen concentrator plant with a capacity of 750LPM with standby compressor, dryer.
Principal JVC SKIMS Dr Reyaz Ahmed Untoo said that the work was expedited on fast track basis keeping in view the better functioning of the designated COVID Hospital at SKIMS MC, Bemina.
The Principal SKIMS Medical College in brief inauguration stated that the facility in addition to existing manifold is going to increase the High Dependency bed strength from existing 20 to 80 within the overall bed strength of 174. Besides this, it can run 6 to 10 more ventilators over and above the existing four.
The Principal appreciated the efforts of Engineering Wing and Coordinator SKIMS Medical College in upgrading the infrastructural facilities required to upgrade SKIMS Bemina (JVC Hospital) into a full-fledged COVID Hospital.
He complimented doctor, nurses, paramedical & other support staff for putting their best efforts in the management of COVID-19 patients. The Principal thanked district administration Srinagar in providing comfortable accommodation and other assistance. He also thanked Director SKIMS for providing necessary support.
It is pertinent to mention here that 31 COVID-19 positive patients are under treatment in the hospital, presently.
