Baramulla doctor tests positive, all contacts quarantined: Dr Masood

SRINAGAR — A doctor has been tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday. The medico hails from north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Nodal Officer for Coronavirus at SKIMS Soura, Dr Ghulam Hasan Itoo said that a doctor from Baramulla has been tested positive today and he has been isolated. He said that the said doctor was already in quarantine and his samples were taken some days back.

“Today, the test of the doctor was found positive,” Itoo said, adding that a couple of medicos are under observation.

Medical Superintendent GMC Baramulla, Dr Masood said that the infected doctor is posted at GMC Baramulla. He said that prima facie it seems an accidental contact. “We are unable to find the known contact yet and it seems that the infected doctor has come into contact with some patient accidentally.”

Dr Masood added that so for 30 contacts of the said doctor have been traced and they have been quarantined. He added that most of these contacts are health professionals.
