PULWAMA — Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

An official said, “A Police party from Police Station Kakapora were on patrolling across Naman area of Kakapora and accordingly, laid a Naka at Naman Kakapora. During checking, the police party intercepted a person roaming suspiciously. On his personal search, 145 grams of Charas were recovered from his possession.”

However, the accused person was arrested on the spot who was later on identified as Khursheed Ahmad Rather alias Adnan son of Shabir Ahmad, resident of Kralpora Chadoora.

“To this effect, a case FIR No. 11/2022 U/S 8/20 of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kakapora and investigation was taken up,” he said.
