SRINAGAR — The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) on Sunday disqualified a candidate, who resorted to cheating during the Accounts Assistant (Finance) exam in north Kashmir’s Sopore.

As per details, JKSSB through live streaming of CCTV surveillance detected one candidate indulging in unfair means practice at SRM Welkin School Sopore and also isolated one invigilator trying to violate the laid down SOPs.

“While exercising vigil JKSSB officials/officers detected one candidate trying stealthily sneak in Mobile Phone at SRM Welkin School Sopore. Candidate was immediately put in isolation. The report from chief inspector is being sought, meanwhile Candidate has been disqualified,” a tweet from the official Twitter handle of JKSSB said.

The Board disqualified and debarred the said candidate in pursuance of Rule 27(a) of JKSSB Examination Conduct Rules 2013. The Board also contemplates recommending disciplinary action against the invigilator to the competent authority for violation of laid down procedures.

The recruitment Board said that it has time and again asked candidates not to indulge in unfair means practices.

Meanwhile, a press statement from JKSSB said that the OMR-based examination for Accounts Assistant posts culminated successfully while the Chairman JKSSB thanked District Administrations for smooth, hassle-free and successful conduct of the written examination.
