SRINAGAR — The residents of Pampore and Pulwama area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district are aghast over the road condition from Pampore to Pulwama.
A group of commuters from these areas said that the 16 kilometer stretch from Pampore to Pulwama is in a very bad condition, with potholes after every meter, making it difficult for them to travel on this strategically important road.
They said that over the years no repair work has been conducted on the road, despite repeated requests to the authorities to make the road fit for driving on.
They said that it takes them hours to cover the distance and carrying patients through this route is often a risk, particularly for the pregnant women, who at times deliver babies, while on their way to hospital.
They said that despite repeated pleas and protests, authorities have kept their eyes closed towards the condition of the road.
They warned that if the district administration will not pay heed to their demand of making the road viable to use, they will come on roads and block every type of traffic on the said road.
