NIA arrests Srinagar youth, claims him as TRF operative

SRINAGAR — National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday claimed to have arrested a TRF operative during raids in Srinagar in connection with case of ‘Radicalizing, Motivating and Recruiting Youth of J&K by LeT.’

In a statement, NIA said that it conducted search in Srinagar and arrested one ‘TRF’ operative, Arsalan Feroz alias Arsalan Soub son of Feroz Ahmad Ahanger, resident of Zaldagar falling under the jurisdiction of MR Gunj Police Station.

As per NIA, the case relates to conspiracy hatched for radicalizing, motivating and recruiting youth of Jammu & Kashmir to effect violent activities in J&K and rest of India by Sajjad Gul, Salim Rehmani alias Abu Saad and Saifullah Sajid Jutt, Commanders of LeT/TRF.

According to NIA statement, in furtherance of the said criminal conspiracy, they are recruiting individuals (OGWs) to carry out reconnaissance of pre-determined targets, coordinating and transporting weapons to support LeT and its frontal affiliate TRF. “Till now, four accused have been arrested in the instant case,” he said.

“Search conducted yesterday led to recovery of several incriminating documents and digital devices. Investigation in the case continues,” reads the statement.
