Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation Limited (JKSPDC) has announced JKSPDC Recruitment 2017 for 173 Engineering & Junior Assistant Jobs for Engineering and Graduate job aspirants of J&K.
Various job vacancies have been advertised including the posts of Junior Engineers (JE’s) in Electrical, Civil and Mechanical disciplines, Geologist Assistants, Surveyor (Geology), Draftsman and Junior Assistant.

The job advertisement notification for JKSPDC Recruitment 2017 for 173 Engineering & Junior Assistant Jobs, issued on 8th of August, 2017, invites applications on prescribed format from the Permanent Citizens of J&K for 173 job vacancies in the Department.
These vacancies have been advertised through two different Recruitment Notifications. First JKSPDC Job Notification announced vacancies for Junior Engineer and other posts while the second Notification is for Draftsman and Junior Assistant posts.
It is pertinent to mention that the appointment to all these posts under JKSPDC Recruitment 2017 for 173 Engineering & Junior Assistant Jobs will be on the permanent basis.
Interested candidates who wish to apply for JKSPDC Recruitment 2017 for 173 Engineering & Junior Assistant Jobs are required to go through the following vacancy and eligibility details.
(I) Junior Engineers (Civil)
Number of Posts: 90 (General: 51, RBA: 18, SC: 08, ST: 09, ALC: 03, Social Caste: 01)
Pay Scale: Rs. 9,300 – Rs. 34,800 (GP: Rs. 4,200)
Educational Qualification: B.E / B.Tech with at least 60% Marks in Civil Engineering OR Diploma with 55% Marks in Civil Engineering OR AMIE from Institute of Engineers, Kolkatta
(II) Junior Engineers (Mechanical)

Educational Qualification: Applicant should have completed BE / B.Tech in Electrical OR Electronics and Communications Engineering with minimum 55% Marks.
(V) Junior Engineers (Instrumentation for BHEP)

Educational Qualification: Applicant should have completed BE / B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering with minimum 55% Marks.

Educational Qualification: Masters Degree M.Sc in Geology from a recognised University of India with minimum 55% Marks.

Educational Qualification: B.Sc in Geology from a recognised University of India with minimum 55% Marks.

Educational Qualification: Candidates applying for this post must have completed 2 years Draftsman (Civil) Course with minimum 55% Marks from AICTE recognised Institute.
(IX) Junior Assistant

Pay Scale: Rs. 5,200 – Rs. 20,200 (GP: Rs 1,900)
Educational Qualification: Graduate having completed six months course in Computer Applications.
The other important eligibility conditions for JKSPDC Recruitment 2017 for 173 Engineering & Junior Assistant Jobs are as follows:
Age Limit: The Age Limit as on 01 January, 2017 should be 18 years minimum and 40 years maximum. Relaxation in age for reserved candidates as per J&K Government Rules will be given. The Category-wise break-up of upper Age Limits is provided below.

Application Fee: Applicants will have to pay Rs. 200 as application fee either through Cash or through Demand Draft favouring General Manager (Accounts), Corporate Officer Srinagar / Camp Office (Jammu), JKSPDCL.

Instructions for Candidates:
01. Please provide complete, accurate and verifiable information.
02. Only DD and cash against voucher is acceptable mode of payment.
03. Please make sure that application number and DD / Voucher no. is clearly written on the application receipt.
04. Self attestation is accepted.
05. Candidates who have not received the final year (qualifying exam) mark sheets are not eligible. Final semester / year marks sheet should be attached.

Receipt of Applications: The duly filled-in prescribed Application form along with all the relevant documents can be submitted either in person or through Courier / Registered Post to the JKSPDCL Office on the following address:

Application forms shall be accepted from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM at Srinagar Office and from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM at Jammu Office of JKSPDCL.
The Last Date for Receipt of Applications by the JKSPDCL Office is 30 September, 2017.
The tentative date for Screening Test is last week of December. The exact date will be notified in due course of time. The exam will be held at centres in two capital cities of Srinagar and Jammu.
Important Points regarding JKSPDC Recruitment 2017 for 173 Engineering & Junior Assistant Jobs:
01. Candidates with Diploma in Electronics and Communication are also eligible for the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical).
02. Separate forms have to be filled in case the candidate wishing to apply for multiple posts.
03. Syllabus for the posts has already been made available on our news portal.
04. The cut-off percentage in the qualifying examination for post of Junior Engineer (Civil), Junior Engineer (Electrical), Junior Engineer (Mechanical), Junior Engineer (Automation) and Junior Engineer (Instrumentation) is 55%.
05. Diploma candidates are NOT eligible for the post of Junior Engineer (Automation) and Junior Engineer (Instrumentation). Only candidates with BE / B.Tech in “Electrical Engineering” or “Electronics and Communication Engineering” from a University established by law in India / AICTE approved Institute are eligible for the post of Junior Engineer (Automation). Only candidate with BE / B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering from a University established by law in India / AICTE approved Institute are eligible for the post of Junior Engineer (Instrumentation).
06. No points will be awarded to candidates for prior experience.
07. All certificates and photographs can be self attested.
08. A candidate who has done Degree shall be allotted 20 marks on pro-rata basis. Candidates with diploma will be allotted 10 marks on pro-rata basis. For example:
a) A candidate with ONLY B.Tech / BE and 75% Marks will be given 15 Points.
b) A candidate with ONLY Diploma and 75% Marks will be give 7.5 Points.
c) A candidate with BOTH B.Tech / BE with 70% Marks and Diploma with 75% Marks will be given 14 Points.
Aggregate percentage shall be calculated on the basis of marks obtained in ALL the semesters of the qualifying examination and not just the last 2 or 4 semesters. Also, marks card of the last semester (8th in case of degree, 6th in case of diploma) is acceptable in lieu of ‘marks cards of all semesters’ at this stage PROVIDED:
i) Marks scored / max marks in ALL of the previous semesters are mentioned individually, and
ii) Marks / max marks scored in aggregate for ALL semesters are mentioned as well.
In “B. Educational Qualifications – Part II – B.2 – Technical Qualifications” of the Application form, the candidate shall have to write AGGREGATE marks of ALL semesters. i.e The SUM TOTAL of marks obtained / max marks of ALL semesters.
The “B.4 Undertaking” in the Application Form for Junior Engineer, Geological Assistant & Surveyor posts refers to declaration contained in the text box on Page 3 of the Application Form.
Candidates, in their own interest, are advised to submit marks cards of ALL the semesters to avoid clarification later.
Candidates having qualification under Grade Point system AND where the conversion formula is NOT mentioned on the marks sheets / provisional / qualification certificates, ARE required to submit a Grade Point to Percentage conversion certificate, issued by the institution from where the qualification was obtained, along with their application forms.
In case the conversion formula is clearly mentioned on the marks sheets / provisional / final qualification certificate, a self attested copy of the same will suffice.
09. Extra marks for higher education (i.e, M.Tech in-case of Junior Engineers and PhD in case of Geological Assistant) are NOT on pro-rata basis but to be given in whole.
10. Those candidates who have not yet received final degrees can submit their forms with provisional degrees only. However, they will have to furnish the final degree at the time of the interview.
