In a rainy night, she was growing in my heart.
All around was darkness, but inside was a trail of light.
Thunders were deafening ears and lightening was blinding eyes,
Owls were hooting woes to me and the blind bats engulfed me,
The muddy water was seeping through my shoes,

The clothes were dripping cold water,
But inside me, you were building yourself.
In the dark lanes, the soul shattering echoes,
The Earth long shadows of ghosts,
The Himalayas tall walls,

The Pacific wide ditch,
But you gave me confidence to move.
Willow trees slept in deep slumber,
Poplar trees were resting under the overcast Sky,
Green grass turned brown was tired,

And you were building in myself.
Sound of running water in lanes,
Mud on the metalled roads,
Vapours from dry sand to drown me,
But you were creating yourself in me.

In a gang of robbers and the plans for robbery,
One drunkard telling the truth,
One lover crying for its beloved,
One home devastated for no reason,
The smouldering fire both in their hearts and in the rain,


The hapless children looking for their toys, books and penny banks,
The sweet scent of burnt pictures,
But you were a pillar in me.
Walking in a rainy night and you in me,
I am still walking in the rain, though it is dry.
