SRINAGAR — Residents in Rahmoo village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday braved the morning chill and lined up early outside the polling station.

The polling station, stationed at Higher Secondary School Rahmoo, witnessed locals queing up to cast their votes.

A local resident, Nazir Ahmad, who is himself a candidate representing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), said that he came to the polling station to cast his vote, adding that he is hopeful of emerging ‘victorious’.

Another local resident, while pleading anonymity, said that they are voting for development and strengthening their leaders who are fighting for the restoration of Article 370 and J&K’s Statehood.

Meanwhile, a total of 343 votes were polled in the southern district’s village.
