Pulwama: Government Higher Secondary School Pinglena on Tuesday celebrated its first Annual Day here. The event was organised as per the directions of Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK).
Dr Sajjad, lecturer in the school, formally welcomed the guests which included Mir Nazir (Correspondent at Radio Kashmir), Mohammad Sulaiman Bhat (Vice Chairman – Jammu Kashmir Civil Society), Showkat Ahmad Hakeem (Senior Citizen & Civil Society member), Abdul Hamid Bhat (Social Worker), Abdul Gaffar (Retired Principal), Abdul Gani Bhat (Nambardar) and Ghulam Nabi Bhat (Sarpanch).
Abdul Rehman Naik, who is posted as lecturer in the school, acted as the host / anchor in the programme.
On the occasion, various cultural programmes were presented by the students of the school. The performances were appreciated by the audience.
Also, the students who had performed well in various competitions were appreciated by the school staff on the occasion.
“The event has been organized as per the directions of Directorate of School Education Kashmir,” Principal of the school, Bashir Ahmad while talking to The Kashmir Pulse said.
He, however, said that the school lacks a concrete wall which leads to indiscipline. He requested the local authorities to help build a concrete wall so that education of school children continues unhindered.
