The guests also included Dr. Ruheela Hassan (HoD – Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, IUST), Mr. Bilal Bazaz (CNI Bureau Chief), Professor Bashir Ahmad (Principal – Government Degree College Pulwama), Shah Irshad (President – Pulwama Working Journalists Association), Jan Muhammad (Radio Compere & Assistant Professor – English), Mr. Muzafar Dar (Sports Journalist – Radio Kashmir), Mr. Shabir Ah (Correspondent – Shaherbeen) and representatives from District Information Department.
Reputable persons from media fraternity as well as successful entrepreneurs of the district were also present during the event organized at Town Hall Pulwama.
“The launch of this news portal in Pulwama is something to be content about. With this, we have come at the level of other districts. I congratulate the whole team of The Kashmir Radar,” said DC Pulwama while addressing the gathering.
Dr. Ruheela Hassan said, “Journalism of various genres should be the focus of the news portal. Conflict journalism is a reality but the other genres should not become a causality. I appreciate the efforts of the whole team of The Kashmir Radar.”
“This is a really good initiative from Kamran Khursheed. It will act as a platform for journalists from Kashmir to present their news reports without any censorship,” said Shah Irshad.
“We will particularly focus on the problems faced by the local population and make the administration take note and act accordingly,” said Kamran Khursheed, Editor-In-Chief of the news portal.
“We will produce such stories which are not taken up by the valley based news media, however, the stories are equally important as the other trending news in the local news media,” claims the portal’s Desk Editor, Gazi Khursheed.
The event concluded with a presentation ceremony during which guests and other reputable participants were presented with mementoes.
The news portal’s team members thanked New Hilal’s Bakery & Restaurant and Art City Advertisers who were the refreshment and print partners of the launch event respectively.
