Pulwama: Thousands of people including the employees of Power Development Department today paid rich tributes to slain Abdul Salam Rajpori at his native village in Pulwama.

Salam Rajpori’s Nimaz-e-Jinazah (funeral prayers) was held at Bellow village. During the gathering, his contribution for the government employees in general and PDD employees in particular was discussed.

One of the mourner said, “We have lost a great leader who was always on the forefront to work for the employees’ welfare.”

World Environment Day celebrated in Pulwama

“The void in our union that we have suffered due to his demise is almost impossible to be filled,” said another mourner.

Pertinently, Salam Rajpori who was President Electrical Employees Union – J&K PDD, passed away after suffering a massive cardiac arrest on Monday. He was chairing a meeting of union members at their Basant Bagh office when the cardiac arrest hit him.
