Gunshots heard as Government forces cordon Heff Shopian

SHOPIAN — Gunshots were heard in the orchards of Heff area of Shopian district on Wednesday.

According to reports, joint forces had cordoned the orchard to ‘flush out any hiding militants’. “Forces fired some gunshots towards a suspected spot,” officials said.

While search operation in the area is underway, reinforcement has been rushed to the spot.

“No contact with militants has been made so far,” sources said.
