
SRINAGAR — At least 1878 people with travel history and others with the flu symptoms have been put under surveillance across Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory while as the Government of India notified COVID-19 as a “Disaster.” The Government of India has also announced Rs four lakh as ex-gratia for those who died of the deadly virus.
An official while talking to wire service Kashmir News Observer said that 135 more travellers and persons have been kept under surveillance and 85 more persons have been kept under home quarantine.
The official said that today six more persons have been kept under hospital quarantine while as 42 persons have been kept under home surveillance. He added that among four samples taken today, one has been tested negative while as rest of the three cases are awaiting the reports.
As per the daily information bulletin, the J&K Government said that 164 persons completed their surveillance period of 28 days and so far, only two cases have been tested positive in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the bulletin on novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), 1878 travellers and persons have been put under surveillance who are in contact with suspected cases besides that 1567 persons are under home quarantine.
The number of persons under home surveillance is 123 while as the persons who are in hospital quarantine stands at 24.
Furthermore, 78 out of 89 samples have been tested negative while as two cases have been tested positive and reports of nine cases are yet to come
