Clashes erupt as government forces launch CASO in Pulwama’s Murran

Srinagar: Clashes broke out between the government forces and youth on Thursday morning after forces launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Murran area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Reports said that scores of the youth assembled and pelted stones on government forces to disrupt the CASO in the village. Forces retaliate with tear gas shells to disperse the protestors.

Sources said that a cordon and search operation was launched in the village following inputs about the presence of militants.

Heavy contingents of Government forces have been deployed in the area and massive search operation is going on, they said.

Local sources said that the CASO was going on from yesterday evening.

The area is a native village of active militant Showat Ahmad Dar.
