Guv asks for assessment of losses suffered by farmers

SRINAGAR — Governor Satya Pal Malik has directed the divisional administration Kashmir to assess the losses suffered by the farmers and orchardists due to the recent hailstorm across Kashmir.

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan said that Governor has directed him to assess the losses suffered by the farmers across the Valley due to the hailstorm especially in south Kashmir’s Pulwama and central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district to compensate their losses.

He said that the Governor has assured the farmers that they will be compensated properly.

On directions of Governor, he said that the divisional administration has deputed teams from yesterday to the districts to assess the losses, adding that the assessment was being done and the farmers will be compensated soon.
