PDP MLA saddened, says ‘cop levelled serious allegations against me, family’


Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) legislator from Wachi constituency of Shopian district, Aijaz Ahmad Mir on Thursday said that he was saddened as the police official at Raj Bagh police station allegedly used abusive language and levelled serious allegations against him.

Talking to KNS, MLA Wachi, Aijaz Ahmad Mir said that his PSO whose weapons were looted by the deserter SPO are languishing in Raj Bagh police station since the incident happened.

“Today, the families of my PSOs and my aides went to see the incarcerated cops at the police station during which a cop there abused me and has levelled serious allegations against me,” he said.

“The situation in south Kashmir is deteriorating. Even the contestants are not ready to take part in polls. We came in politics despite threats and volatile situation. Even after facing threats, we are being humiliated, which saddened me a lot,” he said, adding that he was dejected from the system.

Earlier, a SPO identified as Adil Bashir decamped with seven rifles and a pistol and Insas rifle from the official residence of Aijaz Mir here at Jawahar Nagar.
