SRINAGAR — A policeman was killed while fours others were injured including three cops and a BSF jawan after militants attacked a Naka party near Eidgah area of Bandipora on Friday.
An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that militants lobbed a grenade towards a Naka party of police and BSF near Eidgah area.
He said that in the attack, four cops and a BSF jawan were injured, who were immediately shifted to nearby District Hospital Bandipora for treatment.
The official said that among the five injured security personnel, one cop succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, while the condition of fours others was stable.
The deceased cop was identified as Zubair Ahmad Shah, son of Abdul Rashi Shah, of Papchan locality of Bandipora.
The injured have been identified as head constable Mohammad Shafi of Sonamarg, constable Mohammad Yasir of Quil Muqam and constable Rayees Ahmad Mader of Mader and BSF jawan has been identified as ASI Umesh Singh.
Meanwhile, the official said that area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.
