KISHTWAR — A policeman was killed while as Rashtriya Swayamasevak Sangh (RSS) leader Chandrakant Singh was injured seriously after unknown gunmen fired upon them in Kishtwar area of Jammu region on Tuesday afternoon.
Besides being associated with RSS, Singh is reportedly working as a Medical Assistant in the hospital.
Official sources said that the gunmen fired upon the RSS leader and his PSO at Kishtwar hospital.
In the incident, RSS leader and his PSO suffered serious bullet wounds and have been hospitalized. However, the PSO succumbed.
Soon after the incident, district administration has imposed curfew like restrictions in Kishtwar town and its adjoining parts.
An official of the administration confirmed the killing and subsequently the imposition of curbs in the area.
The officer said that restrictions have been imposed as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order in wake of the attack.
