However, on Wednesday according to KNS Jammu correspondent, Malik in his first media interaction in Jammu claimed that he did not level any allegations against the JK Bank.

“It is JK Bank people who told me about the illegal recruitment and is not necessary that it is a fact. JK Bank is doing a great job and is wonderful institution,” the Governor said.

“I repeated what the youth who had come and told me,” he added.

The Governor also said that talking about corruption does not mean of downplaying corruption. “Corruption has to be stopped. I have gauged the issues that the state is facing,” Malik said.

The Governor further said that some people have been distorting his statements by claiming that entire Kashmiri community is corrupt.

He said, “I have not defamed Kashmiris. Rather, those people are defaming the Kashmiris who are indulging in corruption. I have seen two facets of Kashmir: the poor and the opulent and rich. I want to end this culture to make every resident of Kashmir happy and wealthy and it will be possible only after corruption will come to an end,” he maintained. (KNS)
