Pulwama: Arsh Raina, from the south Kashmir’s Pulwama is one of the emerging vocalists & songwriters in the district.
The multitalented youth is not only a vocalist and songwriter but a good music composer and guitarist as well.
This video is from South Kashmir Leadership Summit 2018 where Arsh along with his friend sang “Tamanna” (originally by Yawar Abdal), “Saahibo Sath Cham Mai Chaini”, “Gaste Wesiye” and many other Kashmiri songs.
Arsh was interested in singing from a very young age. “I started singing from 2009, precisely. That time, I was just a kid,” he says.
“After that, in the year 2012, my friends suggested me a music band namely KMR. I worked with them for some time during which they supported me a lot,” Arsh Raina goes on to say.
“But unfortunately, KMR – The Band disappeared as all the members left the band. Then, I started thinking about my own band, Volcanic Vena,” he says.
Arsh says that Akib, his friend and also a classical vocalist, guitarist and pianist helped him create the band. “We are working together from the past three years. We wrote and composed a lot of songs together,” he says.
The youngster has performed in many high-profile events hosted at SKICC Srinagar, University of Kashmir et cetera.
Arsh also acted in Resurrect – a short film about drug abuse, by Syed Mohsin Andrabi.
Hailing from Arihal village of Pulwama, the youngster joined Amar Singh College Srinagar last year after completing studies from a local high school.
Arsh wants to live his passion and aims to join a music school after finishing his graduation from Amar Singh College.
Some of his songs have been embedded from his Playlist on REVERBNATION – an American online platform that provides tools and opportunities for musicians to manage their careers.
